The New Year’s Day Levee is a tradition that began on January
1, 1884 when Lieutenant Governor Edgar Dewdney held the first New
Year’s Day Levee in Saskatchewan. The Levee provides
an opportunity for the public to exchange New Year’s greetings
with the Vice-Regal couple, enjoy a light refreshment, and tour
the Government House Museum. For more information, please
contact the Office of the Lieutenant Governor at (306) 787-4063.
