Where is Government House?
Government House is located at 4607 Dewdney Avenue, in Regina Saskatchewan.
How much is admission?
There is no admission fee to attend the New Year’s Day Levee.
Who can attend?
Everyone is welcome.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code for the Levee. You may choose to dress up, or be casual.
What do I do at a Levee?
When you arrive at Government House, you will be directed to the cloak room to hang your coat before entering Sir Richard Lake Hall for the receiving line. After you have exchanged greetings with Their Honours, you will have the opportunity to explore Government House and enjoy refreshments in the Henry Newlands Ballroom.
How do I address the Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Barnhart?
The Lieutenant Governor is addressed as “Your Honour”. The Lieutenant Governor’s spouse is also addressed as “Your Honour”.
Will there be entertainment?
There will be entertainment throughout Government House during the Levee. For more information click here.
Will there be refreshments?
Light refreshments are served by guest hosts in the Henry Newlands Ballroom.
Where can I park?
Parking is limited at Government House and the surrounding area. A complimentary shuttle service is available from the West Lot (near the Canada Centre Building at 11th Avenue and Lewvan Drive) of Evraz Place (formerly Regina Exhibition Park). The shuttle from Evraz Place to Government House will begin at 12:30 p.m. and depart every 15 minutes until 3:45 p.m. The shuttle from Government House to Evraz Place will begin at 1:30 p.m. and depart every 15 minutes until 4:30 p.m. For more information click here.
Is Government House wheelchair accessible?
Yes, Government House is entirely accessible.
Will I be able to tour the museum?
The Amédée Forget Museum will be open for tours throughout the Levee. Tour guides will be dressed in period costume and will be available to answer questions.
